Online Quiz: Are you a Talent, a Lifer or a Mandarin?

Online quizzes are fun sometimes.

I'm a Talent!

You're a risk-taker, and you follow your passions. You're determined to take on the world and succeed on your own terms. Whether in the arts, science, engineering, business, or politics, you fearlessly express your own vision of the world. You're not afraid of a fight, and you're not afraid to bet your future on your own abilities. If you find a job boring or stifling, you're already preparing your resume. You believe in doing what you love, and you're not willing to settle for an ordinary life.

Talent: 59%
Lifer: 49%
Mandarin: 28%

Take the Talent, Lifer, or Mandarin quiz.

Who Needs Enemies When.....

When I woke up this morning, someone must have been playing a freaking joke on me.

My maternal grandmother broke her leg and was hospitalised. She's now home and my uncle has employed a maid to take care of her. I share 50% of the cost of the maid.

This is what my mum told me around dinnertime. My aunt (wife of my uncle) said that on the maid's off day, my other aunt (sister of my mother) should go over and take care of my grandmother!!

This is absolutely ridiculous in my book. My other aunt is not exactly healthy. On top of that, she has to take care of my cousin who is currently suffering from mental illness. This aunt of mine is also surviving on approximately $200 a month as she refuses help from others (pride, what can we do?).

A healthy, financially independent person who herself does not take care of my grandmother is expecting a person with so many burdens to go over and take over the maid's duties on the maid's day off????

My mum mentioned that my uncle said that this was because my uncle's wife decided that my other aunt is not paying a cent for the maid, so she should contribute in 'other ways'

What is the world coming to? I'm about to slap someone and it sure ain't you nor me.

I love Banking...... Maybe, Maybe Not.

So today I finally decide to get a bit of my banking done. I'm quite pleased with the results actually.. except for the part where I had to find out which branch my ReadyCredit is with. So I called up the bank and asked that question. The CS told me they'd get someone to call me bank on that. I thought that was a simple question.

Anyway I also asked another question. Basically I can no longer log into my Readycredit account online. The Clear Card account is fine, but not the ReadyCredit. I think it has to do with the CitiCard being expired and stuff like that. The CS still said she'd get someone to call me back.

I made that call at about 11 am.

Please check what time I made this post.

5 hours and still I'm not told what branch my account is with. Maybe it's the Antartic branch.

Sometimes we should really stop asking all these tough questions.

My Obsession with Credit Cards

As my close friends will be able to tell you, I have an unhealthy obsession with credit cards.

I absolutely love to pay with it, anywhere that I can. In fact, if one of my friends insists on paying with cash... I can get quite pissy about it.

So, I got down to thinking about it. Why?

I narrowed it down to the following factors.

1) COOL. I dunno why, but not paying with cash makes me feel good. Wannabe mentality perhaps?

2) LAZY. It is a true fact that I am lazy. In fact, I can get so lazy I don't even make a trip to an ATM. So by me paying with credit cards and people paying me in cash, I don't have to go to an ATM. I am THAT lazy.

3) The Monthly Statement. Everything that I charge gets on the monthly statement. At the end of the month, that's the only chance I get to see where my money went. All my other attempts at recording my expenses have been.... like feeding a fish to a cat. Gone in a jiffy.

4) Discounts. While dining out, you do get discounts now and then with credit cards. It's great to have a surprise discount, but to be honest, is not such a major factor.

Credit Card points, some of you may say... but to be honest, my expenses are not high enough to rack up points to count for much. In fact, I have had points expire on my UOB card in March and June simply because I didn't redeem anything (I could redeem a couple of movie tickets at least) . Also I think some of my Starhub points expired too. I kinda just don't track them.
