Graduation At Last!

23rd May 2012. Once again I graduate from Nanyang Polytechnic. Although the course was completed in June last year, we missed the graduation of that year and thus have to wait for almost a full year before we can 'graduate'.

I decided to attend the ceremony so that I can meet up with my classmates again. I have to say that I am very lucky to have met wonderful classmates who were willing to put up with me and help me along. I would probably never have graduated if it had not been for their great support.

The ceremony was pretty standard and all and it got kinda sad for me when someone went on to make an announcement that it was a tradition for current students to present a song for the graduating cohort. That reminded me of the time when I took part in the performance for graduation, back so many years ago. This year, the song is "That's what Friends are for." and they had back up dancers. Back then, we sang "Amigos para siempre" and we did it in English, Japanese, French and German. I was in the German part back then and we had to dress up in the traditional costumes too! That was really fun and I have to say, it's part of what I love about having studied in a Polytechnic.

Years pass. Time flies. We must make of our time what we can. Working day in and out without respite, that surely can't be all to life. Carpe Diem!
