Japan October 2013 - Tokyo (Day 3)
Today was an open day so my friend suggested that we go to the Sanrio Puroland. Although I am not a theme park person, I thought it'd be fun to go along as well.
Had a Mac's breakfast at last, on the third day in Japan. This is like my must-do activity in Japan. And this is why:
After breakfast, we headed off to Sanrio Puroland via Shinjuku > Keio line to Keio Tama Center Station (330 JPY).
Sanrio Puroland is about 10 mins stroll from the station. It's really easy to find. Just walk along the boulevard and you will find it. The entrance fee for adults is 3000 JPY, and the passport which allows you access to most attractions costs 4400 JPY. My friend got a discount voucher off the internet and we paid 4100 JPY each for the passport.
Sanrio Puroland is naturally a fun place for people who love Sanrio characters. You can definitely spend an entire day here and it's gonna be really fun for kids as well. We didn't even go to all the attractions and we spent almost the whole day there (We only left at 1600, the place closes at 1700). If you are a Sanrio fan, prepare your wallet because this place has many character products that you can purchase. You can buy so many things you can put it into a luggage box that they also sell!
After Puroland, we passed by Daiso again and after that we proceeded to Shinjuku. I wanted to look for Okadaya, which is supposed to be this nice place for crafters. It's located near the east gate of the Shinjuku Station, and it is very hard to find. I didn't buy any yarn there since it didn't seem like a very good idea to be lugging yarn back to Singapore. I also did not find any bunka punch embroidery, but I did pick up a beginner's embroidery set (1280 JPY) and a basic stitches practice set (380 JPY). Tempted to buy more but then if I don't do them eventually, it'd be wasting the money and anyway since I am so slow... I might even come to Japan another time before I even get started on this projects.
Next stop, Muji! Need to stock up on my favourite Muji pens and refills. Absoultely happy that I finally got this done.. but I didn't get purple :(
Ended up going back to Ikebukuro for dinner and we ate at this Chinese restaurant 日高屋. The food is actually not bad. I orderd some deep fried cuttlefish and a rice.
Last night in Tokyo. Tomorrow we will be moving off to Takayama. Shinkansen!!
